PROJECTS

Driven by our mission to promote the mental well-being of children and adolescents in Ghana, The Garderenes Initiative has set clear goals and launched impactful projects that turn our vision into action. Through advocacy, education, care, and support, we’re working to ensure that every child receives the mental health support they deserve.

We are dedicated to advancing youth mental health in Ghana and across Africa through advocacy, education, clinical care, research, training, and holistic support — financial, psychological, emotional, and beyond. Through these initiatives, we are working toward a future where every Ghanaian child and adolescent receives the mental health support they deserve, with their well-being prioritized and nurtured.

CAP CLINIC:

Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Community Clinics

Through collaboration with key stakeholders, we are working towards a future where every child and adolescent seeking mental healthcare in Ghana receives specialized, comprehensive care tailored to their unique mental health needs. Our goal is to promote accessible, quality mental health services across all health facilities in the country.

THRIVE TOGETHER:

Education and Advocacy for Child and Adolescent Mental Health Care

We believe a thriving community is built on the foundation of healthy children and adolescents. Through Thrive Together, we promote awareness of child and adolescent mental health via education campaigns — from social media outreach to broadcast media and community-based programs. By supplementing existing mental health efforts in Ghana, we are creating conversations that prioritize the mental well-being of our youth and empower communities to support them.

• EVERY CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE:

Through this initiative, we address the social factors that negatively impact mental health by empowering youth from disadvantaged backgrounds, providing them with opportunities to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. By addressing the risk factors that contribute to mental health challenges early on and fostering supportive environments, we believe that each child can achieve their full potential

• INCLUSIVE LEARNING:

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that recognizes their full potential. The Inclusive Learning Initiative supports school-aged children with developmental disabilities by raising awareness, conducting screenings, training teachers and parents, and providing resources to schools. Our mission is to foster inclusive learning environments where all children—regardless of abilities or disabilities — can thrive together.

• SO ME NSA:

So Me Nsa in the local Twi dialect translates literally to ‘Hold my hand.’ It is our call to stand with youth living with mental health disorders and their caregivers. We build supportive communities through peer groups, caregiver support, and community-building events. By fostering connection and sustained engagement, So Me Nsa seeks to enhance the quality of life for affected youth and promote a more inclusive and understanding society.

We are an operational NGO committed to carrying out grassroots projects on the ground, with our primary focus children and adolescents. We invite you to join us in making a real difference by promoting the mental well-being of Ghana’s children and adolescents. Together, we can build a brighter future for generations to come.
